It is Valentine’s Day 2015 and here you are again, forever alone, anticipating the misery that is “Singles Awareness Day” for lonely souls everywhere. Except you’re not going to be miserable this year, you’re going to pull a Taylor Swift and SHAKE. IT. OFF. Being single doesn’t have to mean being alone, and it certainly does not have to mean being miserable. Get off your bum and do something for yourself! Here are 10 Things Singles Can Do in Orlando on Valentine’s Day:
1. Get Pampered
Go to your favorite hotel or spa and spend your day getting massages, sipping wine, and relaxing in a warm Jacuzzi or sauna. There’s nothing better than a little self-appreciation to remind you how well you've done on your own thus far. Check out groupon.com for great deals on local massages and spa services!
2. Check-off a Bucket List Item
What better way to spend singles awareness day than doing that one extreme thrilling thing that your ex would never do with you? Go sky diving, bungee jumping, or ride one of the sky coasters on International Drive. Cleanse your soul with a little adrenaline!
3. Get a Makeover
You’re beautiful just the way you are. But confidence is key for all of us to make it through the day, especially singles. Hit up the salon or make-up counter and get a new look. If you’re lonely now, you won’t be lonely long!
4. Have a Girls (or boys) Night Out
Valentine’s Day has historically been harder on the singles with particularly sensitive souls. But don’t assume that your ultra-masculine bros couldn't use a little singles therapy too! Get together with all of your single pals and hit the town. Checkout some of the local events happening this weekend below!

5. Babysit for Your Friends
At first glance, this may sound like the most pitiful thing ever. But seriously, offer to babysit for your favorite couple with children. Not only will they owe you BIG TIME, but cute children have ways of cheering you up without you even realizing it!
6. Adopt a Pet
As cute as kids are, you might not be ready for that kind of commitment on your own. Why not adopt one of the equally cute fur babies that could use a loving home? Pets are loyal, great cuddle buddies, and they will never lie to you or cheat on you. Checkout the many pets up for adoption at the Orange County Animal Shelter. They are open on Saturdays!
7. Go to a Movie (yes, ALONE)
As pathetic as it sounds, sometimes the best way to get over being single is to learn to be okay with it. We may not recommend seeing Fifty Shades of Grey on this particular weekend, but check out Fandango for all the other great pictures to choose from!
8. Go on a Shopping Spree
After you've been pampered and made-over, all you need to complete your new look is an outfit that will have you dressed to the nines for Singles Night Out! Head on over to Millenia or one of the outlets and pick up something that WILL TURN HEADS!
9. Go to a Concert
Music is therapeutic for those of all relationship statuses. Whether you like to rock out or slow dance, head on over to Mardi Gras at Universal to see Jessie J on Saturday, or check out www.ticketmaster.com for other concerts and shows in Orlando!
10. Do Something Active
Sometimes being single is opportunity knocking! Why not get in the best shape of your life before hitting the market again? Sign-up for a gym membership at a no-judgment zone like Planet Fitness or do something fun like joining a spin-class or running a 5K. Healthy People are Happy People!
